Bulletin Purpose
This bulletin is to minimise the risk of electrical discharge into the aircraft’s fuel and involves locating and carefully sealing fasteners within the fuel tanks of the aircraft. This approach ensures that fasteners won’t pose any risk of electrical discharge, thanks to the non-conductive sealant that prevents such incidents.
Our Approach
In this case we fully de-panelled and partially removed rib doors to access the fuel tanks efficiently. Then, we meticulously located and degreased fasteners, preparing them for the sealing process. The application of specific sealants followed, ensuring thorough coverage and protection against electrical discharge. The fasteners were given a second coating for added security. Finally, after a comprehensive inspection, the aircraft was re-panelled and signed off for service.
